The Nissan Figaro was built by a special projects group called the 'Pike Factory'. The Pike Factory also produced other 'niche' automobiles at this time such as the Be-1, Pao and S-Cargo.

Car Preparation
All of our fresh stock goes through an extensive preparation procedure, which consists of the vehicle being stripped completely down to a bare shell (not including engine & gearbox) to allow us to thoroughly valet the vehicle from the inside out. While this is the case, we then treat every panel internally with corrosion protection (cavity wax) which will prevent the vehicle rusting in later years. All of this is taken care in our fully equipped accident repair centre.

The other points of preparation are as follows.
  • 114 point PDI check (pre delivery inspection)
  • 12 months mot   6 months road tax
  • Fully serviced as required i.e. cam belt, discs & pads, shock absorbers, spark plugs, plug leads & all filters (what ever is shown up from the PDI is done without question)
  • 3 months comprehensive warranty (various warranty packages available, ask for details.)
  •  Cd radio now fully re-conditioned to present day technology  www.clarion-service.co.uk click on Figaro owners  
  • Full leather re connolised if required   4 x wheel trims re-sprayed in white or colour coded to the car.
  • New roof & rear window surround replaced if required.  
  • All paintwork fully machine polished and waxed (if repair & paint required then done so to the highest standard and carries a two year warranty)

Nissan announced that they were to produce 20,000 Figaros (to be released in three batches, between February and September 1991), but demand was so great that potential users had to enter a lottery in order to win the chance to buy the new car, which was priced at 1,870,000 yen (£10,000).

It's a 1950s-style, bosom-shaped Noddy car... Everywhere you go turns into a party. People want to talk about the car… It's not flashy, it doesn't guzzle petrol, it doesn't get up anybody's nose... It's a car that makes you smile. It's a witty car, and I don't think they make witty cars anymore. Everyone should have one.
